Dena Markos (Markopoulos) Blackett

The world has lost a remarkable woman. Dena Blackett passed away quietly in
her sleep. She is survived by her Daugher, Sheila DeBlonk and her two
Grandchildren, Sierra and Nick.

Known as Yaya to her Grandchildren and those around her, Dena was a woman
who would go out of her way to help others. Helping people was never an
inconvenience. It was her joy. Just being there for people in need, whether
the need was great or small, was how she gave back to the world.

Dena taught her family to be adaptable, fiercely independent, and to always
be kind. She believed that when the world feels dark, you have the power to
light your own way. And while you’re at it – live your life in such a way
that puts light back in people’s lives. Give back to the world in a way
that people will always know which way you went by the light you left
behind.

Shine bright Dena. You will be forever loved.
