Janet Doris (Large) Mello

                Janet Doris (Large) Mello passed away on Saturday, the 15th of April, at Sutter Medical Center in Roseville, CA.

            She was born July 27th, 1943 in Norwich, England to parents Arthur Charles Large and Doris Violet (Cockaday) Large.  She came to the United States in 1962, living at several Air Force bases with her family, until settling in Citrus Heights in 1989.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, visiting with her children and grandchildren, and her pets.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Doris Large, and her husband, Air Force Master Sergeant John Mello.  She is survived by her partner of 35 years, Charles Caines of Citrus Heights, as well as her daughters Natalie Bradshaw and Jacqueline Bates; her son-in-law Richard Bates; and Janet’s three loving grandchildren, Jared Smith, Nicole Bradshaw, and Courtney Bates.  Also surviving Janet are her brother, Clive Large and sister, Christine Palgrave, both of Norwich, England.

            Ms. Mello will be interred with her parents in England.  As there will be no local service and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Her family would like to thank the staffs of the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit at Sutter Medical Center for their wonderful care during such a difficult time.
