Marjorie Ann (Mathy) Hahn

Marjorie Ann Mathy Hahn passed away peacefully on February 21, 2017 at the age of 92.  Born in Utica, New York in 1924, Marge was the only child of Anna Elizabeth Katherine Schnurr and Casper Edward “Bud” Mathy. She graduated from the Utica Free Academy high school at the age of 16 and the attended the Utica School of Commerce for accounting/bookkeeping. Marge was a member and past president of the Delta Gamma Delta Sorority. She enjoyed her early work in a law office and after raising five children in property management.    Marge married James Leo Hahn in 1949 and moved to the Sacramento area in 1965 after Jim was transferred to McClellan AFB.   Marge was a dedicated mother and homemaker with several interests.  The couple enjoyed spontaneous road trips, traveling throughout the west, exploring new places and shopping. Her daughters and friends treasured their adventures traveling abroad.  Marge will be remembered for her many years as a dedicated volunteer at the American Cancer Society's Discovery Shop, and for her active participation in the Riverview Social Club for over 40 years.  The   "Ladies Lunches" with friends were special, and she was touted for her delicious recipes.  Marge was an accomplished seamstress, had a great love of fashion , and prided herself on staying stylish, even into her nineties.   Her eye for color and creative and artistic talents touched all that she did including her knitting and needlework.  Marge is survived by her children Jim, Mike, Lisa, son in-law Rick, Annee, and Gretchen and has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was truly one-of-a-kind, and she will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to The American Cancer Society.
