Rose A.Foster,83,of North Highlands,was received into the arms of her Savior Wednesday,
October 18, 2017surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Albion, New York on July14,1934 to O.P. Wagner and Myrtle (Evans) Wagner. October
14,1955 she married Alva (Al) C. Foster, who predeceased her last year breaking a marital union
of 60 years.
Rose was a graduate of Grant Union HS. She was a member of Liberty Towers Church of the
Nazarene for 50 years. She enjoyed helping with caravans and VBS programs. She was always
available and willing to help out with mission banquets and every year she read her missionary
books. Even the children's books. In her later years after Al retired, they could be found on
Monday mornings bowling in the senior league. She enjoyed quilting, making Christmas
ornaments for each of her grandkids and doing various craft projects. She also did drama at
church, puzzles (word&jigsaw), Work and Witness trips, and loved to play games, read and
learn. Rose loved her grand and great grand children when she visited them or they came to see
her.
She is survived by seven children: Mary (Bob) Brown, Franklin Foster, Sheila Foster, Carl ( Bernice) Foster, Judith (Tony)
Randall, Annette (Tom) Hutt and Lila (Mike) Hackenberg; ten grandchildren: Linda (Robert) Todd,
William (Michelle) Bradshaw, Terence Reith, Casey and Ryan McDow, Jace, Kevin and Amber
Hutt, Caroline Campbell and Cameron Hackenberg; one step-grandson: Wen (Gina )Laws; ten
great-grandchildren; one step great-grandson; sister Ora Gregory; brothers Paul Wagner and
John (Dawna) Wagner; brother-in-law Ray Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Rose was preceded in death by infant grandson Jonathan Hutt; an infant
great-grandson William Shankland ; sisters Anna Olea, Ruth Smith, Doris Hutchinson and Helen Scott; infant brother
James; sister-in-law Doris Wagner and brothers-in-law Robert Olea and Eugene Gregory.
