Hilda Muller Obituary Hilda Elizabeth Muller, age 77, died peacefully at her home in Carmichael, CA on December 4, 2020. She was known for her ready laugh and great humor, kind-hearted empathy, easy-going (yet feisty) manner, intelligence, and love of life. She will be greatly missed. Hilda was born near Glasgow, Scotland and lived in both England and Scotland while growing up. As a young adult, she emigrated to the United States, where she lived for periods of time in both California and Virginia. After some years as a homemaker when her kids were young, Hilda returned to college where she excelled. She earned a BS in Business Administration at San Jose State University and entered the accounting field which remained her occupation until retirement. With her husband, she owned and fully restored Hickory Knolls Farm, a hobby farm with a previously abandoned Victorian farmhouse. They enjoyed regular breaks from all this work at their favorite vacation spot, Cat Island, Bahamas, spending as much time as possible at the beach. Hilda truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She was a great conversationalist, and never grew tired of chatting and laughing with friends and family. She loved listening and dancing to a wide variety of music. In quieter moments, she could be found with a good book or working a challenging puzzle. She also had an adventurous side and enjoyed motorcycle rides and traveling. Later in life, Hilda moved to the Sacramento, California area to be closer to her family. The family would like to thank the team at Barrett Hills Senior Care and Sutter Hospice for their outstanding care of Hilda during her last year of life. Hilda was a loving mother to her daughters Jennifer and Karen, both of Sacramento, California. Hilda is also survived by her brothers, Terry of Yuba City, CA, and Kevin of Queensland, Australia and her sister, Fran, of Folsom, CA, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and other extended family members. Hilda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim, as well as parents George and Maureen. Due to COVID-19 regulations, services will be private.
