Alvin Paul DuPont Jr.
March 12, 1955- January 17, 2021
It is with the greatest sorrow that the family of Paul DuPont grieves the loss of the most courageous man we know. Paul lived life with appreciation and enthusiasm. He was a devoted husband and dedicated mentor to his children. He loved exploring the US, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and most recently Australia and New Zealand. Paul’s passion for Alabama Football ran deep, recruiting countless fans.
“Tall Paul” spent his early life in Tuscaloosa, AL. excelling as a star pitcher in baseball and playing basketball, leading his teams to multiple state championships coached by his father. Paul moved to Lake Tahoe in 1977 after receiving his BS in communications from the University of Alabama where he was a Phi Gamma Delta. Paul was greatly respected for his work as a finance manager in the Sacramento area, helping colleagues excel and connecting with clients. He successfully worked at Maita Toyota for over 20 years. After retiring in late 2016 he enjoyed as many Giants games as possible. He attended daily mass and volunteered at St. John’s Catholic Church. He was often sighted on long walks with his Vizslas and Boxer throughout his Folsom neighborhood while praying for his loved ones and many friends he deeply cared about.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Mayor Al DuPont and Margaret DuPont. He is survived by his loving and devoted family: wife Monica, son Dane and daughter Annette, in-laws Dona, Chris, and John Christensen (Linda Koss). His longtime friends Steve Ryan and Leland Baker.
Paul will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious personality, love of life and honorable work ethic. He was a great conversationalist, always asking sincere questions about others. Paul was the quintessential gentlemen.
