Brooke Ellen Manly, age 47, died November 14, 2020 with her family by her side in Roseville, CA.
A memorial service will be held at a future location and date in Sacramento, CA after current COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted and people can attend safely. Information will be sent via private text messages and/or social media postings directly from her husband.
She was born in Sacramento, CA to Stephen and Nancy Manly (Cooper.) She graduated class of 1991 from Foothill High School. She attended college at University of Oregon and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1995. After graduation, she attended California State University Sacramento and obtained her Master of Arts in English in 2004.
She had previously resided in Austin, Texas, where she survived and endured a sudden electrocution, and lived in Oakland / Emeryville, CA. She enjoyed watching and attending sport events, especially UFC, Oakland A’s, San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and Oregon Ducks. Her hobbies and interests included watching movies, spending quality time with her niece and nephew, putting jigsaw puzzles together with her father during holidays, and slipping into a deep food coma after eating her husband’s cooking.
She previously worked for Raley’s, ACS, Direct Technology, TechniSource, LexisNexis Examen, InfoPros, Global Secure Systems, Sutter Health and Digital Harbor. She was an Application Analyst and a Certified Business Analysis Professional for many years, which led to her work as a Business Systems Analyst at University of California - Davis, University of California – Berkeley, and finally working as a Senior Technical Writer for Cybersource for the past 5 years. She also worked as a bartender / barback for Press Club in Sacramento, CA and Free House in Berkeley, CA.
She is survived by her husband of 6 years, Konnor Robison-Williams; parents, Stephen and Nancy Manly; sister Maura Newman and her spouse, Jonathan Newman; niece Liliana Newman and nephew Weston Newman; “stepchildren-ish” Alex Baca and Mandy Baca; “work wife” Erin O’Meara and her spouse Daniela Hampel and numerous close friends and family members.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Betty Cooper Youngren, grandfather Kelly Youngren, and mother-in-law Paula Antoinette Williams.
