David Butcher Obituary

David Alan Butcher February 2, 1961 - May 8, 2023 David Alan Butcher was born February 2, 1961 in Sacramento, CA. to Joseph and Alma (Bonini) Butcher. He graduated from Luther Burbank High School and lived in Sacramento the entirety of his life.

Being a warm, caring and curious person, David was often seen offering his time to those in need, assisting neighbors with any project he noticed them involved in and spending time with family and friends. He also volunteered at a local winery and ushered at the Sofia/B Street Theater.

David was a perfectionist in all aspects of his life. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee. He worked for the 7Up company for over 20 years and was proud of his job. He was always trying to find ways to support his co-workers and make their jobs easier and more efficient.

A child at heart, David would spend hours playing with his large collection of toys and games. At family reunions you would always find him playing with the children, who would most likely be using him as a jungle gym, or with the household pets, who flocked to him relentlessly.

David is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Alma Butcher, and his brothers, Gary and Kenneth Butcher.

David is survived by his daughter Morgan Hartley Schambers, his life partner Reba Haven, sister Leanne (Butcher) Byerhoff , brother Jimmy Butcher, sister-in-laws, Suzanne and Cindy Butcher, various nieces and nephews and his best friend, Rick Queral.

He took his courageous and final journey on May 8, 2023 after a very short and aggressive battle with cancer.

David was a fun loving person who always made the people around him smile. He left all who knew and loved him with fond, fun and loving memories to cherish. He will remain in our hearts forever.

There will be a celebration of life, with a tie-dye theme in his honor, at a family residence.
