Jack Messinger Obituary

Jack Eldon Messinger

Passed away December 26, 2022. He was 80 years old.

He was born in Price, Utah and spent many enjoyable years deer hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers in the mountains of Utah. He learned how to play pool when he was young and it became a favorite pastime of his. He served in the Armed Forces and was a Vietnam Era Veteran. He was in the Army and was also a radio repairman in bomber aircraft in the Air Force. He worked at the Kennecott Copper Mine as a truck driver. He very much enjoyed visiting with his family in Utah.(sisters Midge and Bonnie and brothers Paul and Francis, also his brother Gene when he was there). He later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he became a blackjack dealer in the casinos there. He worked at a few different casinos including the MGM Grand and Bally's which he retired from after many years of working there. He then moved to California to live near his sister Peggy and her husband Ray. They went fishing often in the lakes of the Sierras, where he caught many fish (some very large). He was preceded in death by his parents Martell and Jennie Messinger, brothers Francis and Paul Messinger and sister Bonnie Erickson. He is survived by brother Gene Messinger, sisters JoAnn (Midge) Catlin and Peggy Fernandez and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.

Rest in Peace dear brother.

His ashes will be placed in the Memorial Wall at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA
