Citrus Heights, CA

January 23, 1957 – June 17, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean M. Uhrich. Born Patricia Ann Huey in Alabama, Jean received her new name upon adoption as a baby.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, WWII bomber pilot hero, Col. George A. Uhrich, and her mother, Frances J. Uhrich. Jean always was proudly “the Colonel’s Daughter.”

Jean graduated from Bella Vista High School in 1975. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work at San Diego State University in 1983, and completed her Master of Social Work degree at Sacramento State University in 1991. As a social worker, Jean dedicated her life to helping others, always striving to make a positive impact on those around her and to do what was best for others.

As an adoptee, Jean dedicated herself to fighting for adoptee rights. She tirelessly advocated to open adoptee birth records, and wrote and successfully passed such legislation in Alabama and Utah.

Those who knew Jean will never forget her kind heart, the genuine care she showed to those in need, and her love for Jesus.

“Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40) Rest in Peace, Good and Faithful Servant, and enjoy Eternal Life with Jesus.
