Muriel Adeline (Swanson) Parrish

Born in Minneapolis, MN Dec 20, 1924, and passed away in Sacramento Dec 26, 2016.  Preceded in death by her parents Carl and Bertha Swanson, brother Thor, 6 half-siblings (Alan, LeRoy, Una, Leone, Thelma, Wyman), and daughter Susan, and survived by her husband Tom, son John and his wife Julie, and her grandson Brandon.  She was a strong Christian known for her integrity and was a very loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, aunt, cousin, niece and friend to many.  She graduated from Roosevelt H.S. in Minneapolis, later worked at the YMCA and General Mills, and then married husband Tom June 1, 1957 and was a happy homemaker thereafter.  She served as a Sunday school teacher and was known for “staying in touch.”  She loved quality time with those she cared about and enjoyed writing letters to distant family and friends.  She was a fabulous cook, known especially for her home-made bread.  She and her daughter Susan swam at the Easter Seals pool in Sacramento for many years.  She supported a variety of causes, including her church, Christian charities, and the Republican Party.  Her Memorial Service will be held Jan 14 at 1pm at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 1615 Morse Avenue, Sacramento, CA.
