PAULINE HOLSINGER LEONG

 Pauline Holsinger Leong, age 98, passed away December 31, 2022, peacefully in Elk Grove, California surrounded by family. Pauline was the fourth daughter born to Samuel and Louise Holsinger on January 6, 1924, in Woodland, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ah Chong Leong (Al), her son, Robert Keirsey and her grandson, Maximus Jonah. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Roller, Margaret Aitkenhead (Victor), Susan Joy Jonah (Michael), and Ruby Lowe, who she also considered her daughter. Grandchildren Laura Johnson, Sara Johnson-Lay (Chris), Bradley Johnson, Alex Castro (Molly), Jamilia Majesty, Jadah Sellner (George) and Isaiah Whigham. Pauline was also survived by a sister, Suzette Hertzes of Luxembourg, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 Pauline was very proud to be a World War II Veteran serving with the US Coast Guard. She has always been very productive with her crochet needles, producing Afghans and clothing for family members over the years. She continued to crochet into her nineties, even though she was legally blind! Pauline loved adventure and enjoyed time in nature, watching birds, bears and identifying flowers. Whether living in Sacramento, Las Vegas, or Knoxville, she thrived on getting out and about, enjoying drives in the country or the mountains. Her favorite request of the driver was “let’s get lost” so we did and how much fun we had! Pauline loved her family and had an awesome memory, reciting names and birth dates of all her relatives near and far. She could tell you every address and phone number she ever had! We will never forget her glorious smile and everyone who knew her has a great many stories to tell!
