Ronald Arnott, Sr. Obituary

Ronald F. Arnott, a 49-year resident of California and formerly of Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at his home in Sacramento, CA. He was 76 years of age.

The son of the late Clayton K. and Catherine Constantino Arnott, he was born on September 22, 1948 in Middletown, NY. While in Middletown, he worked as an agent for Prudential Insurance Co. After moving to California, he was employed in auto sales, moving up into auto financing and dealership General Manager positions. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam-era U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970.

Ron graduated from Middletown High School with the Class of 1966. He was an accomplished musician, playing guitar and accordion, and was a member of the Pastels. In recent years, he enjoyed playing concerts with his accordion for friends and family. Ron enjoyed fishing and ice fishing, cheering for the 49ers football team, traveling, and spending time with his dogs and family. His most recent adventures were an Alaskan cruise with family and a train ride to Reno with friends. He enjoyed making people laugh and meeting new people wherever he went. Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends. Those who knew him will remember his kind heart and love for family.

Ron would always find time to tell a story, or two, often filled with humor and laughs. His memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration to all those who knew him.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Jan Arnott; his children, Tina Viramontes of Clearlake, CA, Ron (Crystal) Arnott Jr. of Sacramento, CA, and Casey (Geoff) Eldringhoff of Warrenton, VA; two step-children Joel (Jillian) Wallace of Napa, CA and Tania Alvarez of Modesto, CA; his brother Clayton J. (Patricia) Arnott of Myrtle Beach, SC, and sister Dorothy (Patrick) Garvey of Bloomingburg, NY; his grandchildren, Jacob, Casey, Adam, Ronnie, Sierra, Anastasia (Jake), Alicia, Antonio, Bella, Liam, and Catriona; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children Gloria Tesoro, his second wife Judy Rossi McClanahan, and son-in-law Robert Viramontes.
